Burning Bushes
c 2001 DMorgan

Almighty god looked down
from his throne high in the sky
His creatures were so decadent
It made him want to him cry
They needed a shepherd to keep them in the fold
A person theyd respect, perceptive and bold

Moments later, far below,
Moses witnessed his first light show
Before his eyes a bush ignited,
Moses feared he was being smited

When the bush commenced to speak,
The shepherd felt his knees grow weak
The bush told Moses the Lord had chose him,
Not to fear those who oppose him
God would furnish all the tools;
He was chiseling out some basic rules

Moses prayed the nightmare would stop
But whoosh, there he was on a mountaintop
There God gave him the 10 Commandments;
Take two tablets, no enhancements

A few millennia later
When God checked back again
He couldnt believe his eyes
It was worse than it had been
Billions crammed the planet
It was bursting at the seams
The DNA from rabbits
Somehow mixed with human genes

Once again He looked around
Another shepherd had to be found
It might have been a tough decision
If not for Gods nearsighted vision
He saw a face he clearly recognized
And a Moses clone was atomized

A raging has-been actor cursed the blinding light
Whoever was ad-libbing was itching for a fight

Silence, I am God; in my presence you should cower

Big deal, Im Charlton Hesston
You wanna argue power?

I dont remember you being so rude;
be glad I'm in a forgiving mood

You're gonna get a chance to improve your score
You'll sure to do better than you did before

I'm not sure just who you are,
But this is going way too far
Moses was only a role to play;
Now Im in charge of the NRA
Explain just why you kidnapped me
Or reach for leather at the count of three

I'd hoped the species would evolve
But it continues to regress
Human beings never use their heads,
The situations a mess
Other planets whisper that the earth is one big sewer The ozone looks like Swiss cheese;
Its amazing you've endured

Population runs amok, perhaps you should modernize Eulate big business lose the dead weight, downsize

Downsize, that might do the trick,
A prudent plan indeed,
I'll appoint you CEO just tell me what you need

Remember that old burning bush
That nearly toasted Moses tush
If you give me one to do this job
I'll guarantee to shrink that mob
A burning bush is the perfect answer
Better than accidents, aids or cancer
In a term or two Ill show you a population cut in two

Charlie beamed with confidence,
God knew he was the man
The NRA would ignite the blaze,
An inferno Bush would fan
Presidential power can veto population
A burning Bush without restraints
Could be the worlds salvation

Convicts will broil from coast to coast
States can hold contests to see who fries the most
Sauté in Seattle, stun them first like cattle
Sizzle in South Dakota, marinade in Minnesota

Once the flame is crackling,
It will leap beyond our borders
Countries from around the world
Can fax in their orders

Millions will go up in smoke
Theyll never have a prayer
The Bible set a precedent
A Bush can burn anywhere

The carnage wont discriminate by color, race or sex
Their ashes will be buried, labeled only with an X
Its as simple as the ABCs
One always knows whats next
In the alphabet of life and death
After Dubya comes X

Bring Them Home
c2000 DMorgan

Thousands of our troops suffer over seas
Stricken by an illness called mad cowboy disease
We know they caught the bug
From eating French fries and brie
First we cut out French fries; next well cut the cheese
Chorus: Bring them home from Iraq
All together all in tact
We can show how much we care
Bring them home bring them back

Kelly lives in Kokomo
Tonys from Toledo
 Laurie comes from Louisville
Brandys home is bunker hill
Omar lives in Omaha
 Sandras home is Saginaw
Ingrid comes from Indianapolis/
Mortimers from Minneapolis (chorus)

From north to south/from east to west
Mad cowboy disease is killing our best
Without our strong support their futures look black
Lets show some respect
Bring them home bring them back (chorus)

Cheese
c1985 DMorgan

Ronald Reagans recipe from 20 years ago
Caused bread to trickle upward
From those without much dough
Fat cats had a tasty treat
A scrumptious potpourri
But poor folks also got their slice
When the government gave them cheese
It really put us in a bind
We couldnt pass the cheese

George served up a smorgasbord
Those thousand points of lite
Many people read his lips but lost their appetite
Every daily diet had a few less calories
The hungry cried out, "wheres the beef,
We need some with our cheese"
While some enjoyed the gouda life
The rest ate surplus cheese

Gourmets were delighted with potato ala Quale
Who longed to see his favorite dish
 Murphy brown, in jail
Dan devised a regimen to stamp out poverty
Send the homeless to the moon,
& let them all eat cheese
Send a lot of crackers
Cuz theyll never run out of cheese

When our daily grace is said
Remember Albert Gore
Inventor of the internet, the telephone and more
If Al had won the bake off
He would have saved the trees
But our palates would need cleansing
Cuz we'd eat recycled cheese
Tipper would place labels on recycled surplus cheese
Clinton was astonished that folks were underfed
He clearly demonstrated how we each can get ahead Bill suggested little things to help us feel at ease
Like lighting up a fine cigar
When you're finished with your cheese
Kick back, enjoy a stogie
When you've polished off your cheese

Florida is one place
George would love to slam the door on Compassionate conservative is Dumbyas oxymoron
Along with cutting taxes, he'll cut social security
We know he cut those dimpled chads
I'm afraid hell cut the cheese
Don't beat around the bush George
We know youll cut the cheese

Peace Works
Remember back in grammar school
Learning all those grammar rules
About adjectives, adverbs and interjections
When one poorly parsed predicate
Resulted in rejection

Some parts of speech have been modified
Making them a little less absurd
Peace today is no longer a noun
We finally figured out its an action verb
Peace in todays world is not a noun
It has to be an action verb

Chorus: Peace works, through our hearts
Peace works through our hands
No longer a privilege or a preference
Its the price survival demands
One final flourish at the finish line
Is what this race demands

Reconsider justice, tolerance and love
Defined as persons, places or things
As subjects they tend to speechify
But as action words they sprout eagle wings

If you think waging war brings resolution
You might return to school for a saner solution
Enroll in the course life 101
You'll learn that peace is what we aim for
But never with a gun (ch)

The Christian Coalition

Robertson & Falwell have an open line to God
He tells them how each one of us should live
Read your Bible daily, always vote for Bush
Then send money til there's nothing left to give

Chorus: We belong to the Christian Coalition
Our viewpoints come straight from on high
We'll tell you what is wrong
Cuz were always on the right
Its so wonderful to never wonder why

Lesbos & homos can lead our kids astray
Liberals are Lucifers best friends
Those New York City towers
Would be standing tall today
If the lefties would have learned to say amen

Terrorists are everywhere but dont lose any sleep We'll nuke them all no matter where they hide
Genocide for Jesus doesn't contradict his word
It only proves that God is on our side (chorus)

Satan spews his sacrilege, in movies and TV
There's nudity and filth at every turn
Dumbya knows the answer
Put prayer back in our schools
Its the fundamental lesson all must learn(chorus)

Children Must Learn Lesson ..
c1982 DMorgan

1 Barrels of oil or the barrels of guns
peace loving people of the USA,
peace loving people of the world

2 Jews attack Arabs, Arabs attack Jews (Israel)
3. You'd better reach for leather if you disagree
4.Bow to the Bushman or risk world war )
5 mega ton nukes are the way to survive
6 politics and god make one hell of a mix
7 The toll road is steep on the highway to heaven
8 self-righteousness is the hammer of hate
9 the future of existence is the line
10 we've done it all before will we do it all again

Peace Is Patriotic, Too
 c2002 DMorgan

Parading through the streets with peace signs flying Peace is patriotic too
Opposing war is as dignified as dying
Peace is patriotic too

Some march to the meter of a military drum
Peace is patriotic too
Some prefer a peaceful protest--we shall overcome Peace is patriotic too

ch: You don't need to be neurotic
To think peace is patriotic
Peace is patriotic too
Drilling Arabs for oil, now that's a bit psychotic
Peace is patriotic too

We don't have to hide our heads, pretend to be mute Peace is patriotic too
Folks can fight for freedom without forcing a salute
Peace is patriotic too

Dissent is as American as mom and apple pi
Peace is patriotic too
We can honor our nation without choosing to die Peace is patriotic too

We don't need to shoulder weapons
To prove our loyalty
Peace is patriotic too
Protesting persecution is a privilege of the free
Peace is patriotic too

You can pledge allegiance to country and flag
Peace is patriotic too
While mourning all the bodies
That come home in bags
Peace is patriotic too

You don't have to be a pinko or a hippie or a freak/
To speak out against oppression
You don't have to be wimpy or weird or weak
To take a stand against aggression
That red white and blue waves for me & you
Peace is patriotic too

Rush
c2k DMorgan

Pointy heads and ditto heads
Sleep in very similar beds
We sometimes even share each others sheets Although were always on the right
No one calls us erudite
A ditto head just listens then repeats

We all revere the father, the son & holy ghost
But I am proud to tell you
We revere old Rush the most
We memorize his every word
Genuflect and follow
No matter how unsavory
We close our eyes and swallow
Fill us with your wisdom Rush, we are hollow

We will fight with all our might
Those whose loafers are too light
You know that real men wear jack boots
Good for stomping grapes and other fruits

Modern women make me puke
They like to think they're men
But theyre not fooling anyone
We know theyre a bunch of lesbians
Get back in the kitchen closet
Where you each belong
You know this femi-Nazi shit is wrong

We dont care if youre a pig/we love you Rush
We dont care if you're an addict, we still gush
We dont even care if what you tell us isnt true
This is no crush, Rush--we worship you

Rush could be the president
We pulled it off with Dubya
A clone of evolutions missing link
Rush could turn the world into a true utopia
One where no one ever has to think
A perfect place where no one has to think

The Boob Tube
c superbowl sunday DMorgan

Me & the kids was watching the super bowl
The missus in the kitchen baking apple pie
The girls could care less about football
But miss that halftime show, theyd rather die

Suddenly it happened to my udder dismay
In our family room on super bowl day
We witnessed a sight I though I'd never see
Not during prime time/on network TV

Without any warning right there on the tube
Popped a pornographic picture
An unrestrained boob
A mammary gland A braless breast
A cup that overfloweth, an unadorned chest

My kids hid their faces they was traumatized Sickened by the shamelessness
In front of their eyes

The pagan presentation was lascivious & lewd
Janet should be jailed for performing nearly nude

To get our minds off that smutty scene
We sought absolution on the silver screen
The passion of the Christ is a picture kids should see
They might become the grownups
We would like them to be

It was vital to replace that television tripe
With a family values flick, one with some hype
A graphic crucifixion was all it took
The savagery alone was worth a second look

Youre bound to enjoy it but heres the real hook
Once you see the movie
You don't have to read the book

We Have To Beat The Bushes Again
c2004 DMorgan

In the last election the voters were had
By a bush-league mob and a chump called Chad Americans were stunned disillusioned and sad
But as the plot unfolded sad turned to mad

Chorus: we have to beat the bushes (3x)
We have to beat the bushes again
Lies and deception wont steal this election
We're going to beat the bushes again

Would you like to find solutions to our oily little war
We have to beat the bushes again
Do you wonder what so many have been sacrificed for
We have to beat the bushes again

Bushes are weeds as everyone knows
They choke out life wherever they grow
Truth can extinguish this noxious blight
We have to beat the bushes again to see the light

It wasnt enough to win fair and square
We have to beat the bushes again
They rigged the results hoping no one would care
We have to beat the bushes again

Now millions of Americans are entering the race
To see who gets to wipe that smarmy smirk off Dumbyas face
As November approaches its a matter of deduction
They need to locate weapons of mass destruction
Like Janets attire the evidence is scant
But dont be surprised if they find a bushy plant

Dumbya Dumbya III
c2003 DMorgan

People take pleasure poking fun at him
But malapropisms dont prove Dumbyas dim
Take a look beyond all that good old boy stuff
You'll see a Texan with the temperament
To walk the walk

Talk the talk--walk the walk
He's gonna go down in history
As the fearless fomenter Dumbya Dumbya III

You have to love the guy
He's like the Marlboro man
How could anyone not be GW fan
He has that little swagger in his gait
He looks you in the eye when he prevaricates
He handles a horse like John Wayne, of course
And hes not afraid to instigate

A swagger in his gate--not afraid to instigate
His name will go down in history
Known forever as Dumbya Dumbya iii

Heed those red alerts cuz there's danger of attack From that military giant, the titanic Iraq
Dumbya is providing some hands on instruction
For countries with weapons of mass destruction

Providing some instruction
To stamp out mass destruction
You know hell go down in history
In the era known as WWIII

You gotta respect the way he thumbs his nose at NATO
That whiney bunch of wimps
Who insist on going slow
Dumbya is one dude you dont want to rebuke
See it his way or you might be seeing nukes

Not prudent to rebuke
Unless you want a nuke
He might fill a whole chapter in history
If humanity survives Dumbya Dumbya III
Its a question of surviving WWIII

Another Burning Bush
c2k DMorgan
Moses got excited when that bramble bush ignited
He really started freaking
When the flames commenced to speaking

The shepherd felt relief
When he heard what God desired
Take two tablets then set the world on fire

Hitler said "Pshaw, old Moses was a Jew
He never did one thing a good nazi couldnt do
If youre charismatic and a quintessential liar
You don't need a burning bush
To set the world on fire"

The continent exploded with maniacal fury
The master race assumed the roles of judge and jury
Led by a loser certifiably nuts
Many could have stopped him
But no one had the guts

(ch) The sheep said "Yaaa, we hear and obey
Following orders is the patriotic way
Power when its absolute does not require a reason
& doubting the fuehrer was an act of treason."

What happened to concept of civilization?
Was judgment a victim of rationalization?
Did common sense and ethics desert humanity
Does unquestioning compliance cause insanity

Dumbya is a charlatan a calculating clown
But blood lines confirmed his claim to the crown
Junior learned a lesson from recent history
Someone pays the price for a poor economy

Diversion and deception are fuel for a liar
And a single burning bush can set the world on fire

Power is addictive as history shows
More potent than the powder
 Dumbya put up his nose
Add a Dick and a Bush to a festering feud
You know the facts of life
Someones going to get screwed

A Bush League obsessed with vengefulness
Will risk world destruction to exact its pound of flesh
How much collateral must be amassed
To give Dumbya an erection
Perhaps one vote for every body bag
Will be the price of his re-election

NRA/PTA Blues
Sit up straight and pay attention to what I have to say Its time to re-evaluate the PTA
It may have helped our schools once
But now its so passé
We need to set our sights on the issues of today

ch: NRA, NRA, problems go away and stay
Everyone should own a gun
For protection of a little drive by fun
Shotguns, pistol, derringers too
Just pick the heat thats right for you
M-1s, Tommy guns for everyone,
Have yourself a blast, buy a gun

Education has gone to hell
since I was a boy in school
Manners and respect continue to decrease
Though boys still brag in the locker room
Their aim has really changed
These days you'd better duck
When a kid says hes gonna get a piece

No more bloody fist fights on the playground after school
Rven brutal bullies will practice the golden rule
We'll never see that scrawny kid
With a fat lip and black eye
Wven mousy mamas boys
Can learn to fire from the hip

We love the second amendment
Its the only one we know
Enforcing present laws is what were lacking
A rod in every book bag, a pistol in each purse
Trigger locks are ludicrous when everybodys packing

Little kids are tickled
When they study their favorite lesson
How to load aim & fire
Their very own Smith & Wesson
Bleeding hearts say art class reveals a fatal flaw
Bodies fall like hailstones
When the teacher says draw (chorus)
